In addition, he has worked in an educational capacity for Harold
Washington College and Palm handheld computers.
During
his college career, he received many awards and honors such as:
National Science Foundation Scholarship Recipient; Awarded ISAC
Quern Technology Grant; and Membership in the National Society of
Collegiate Scholars and Phi Theta Kappa. He constantly furthers
his knowledge with numerous educational seminars and classes.
Ray Young graduated from DePaul University with Bachelor in Computer
Science. Currently he is pursuing a Masters in Teaching.
Throughout
his career, Ray has been actively involved in humanitarian and community
issues. He has served as a volunteer at Senn High School and Beethoven
Grammar School. He taught students how to make web pages as part
of a program, Carpe Diem, sponsored by the Chicago Software Association.
For two years he was a leader of an organization, Circle K, that
provided food for the homeless on Thanksgiving. Currently, he is
volunteering with the Young
Chicago Lakefront to feed the needy and raise money for AIDS
prevention and care.
He
also volunteers his technology support for local leaders such as
Illinois State Representative Sara Feigenholtz, Illinois State Senator
John Cullerton, and Chicago 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney. |
